![]() ![]() For anyone itching to keep up to date with what is happening at this years event there are a number of feeds available through the likes of Nerdist, Gamespot and Wired. The Japanese financial year runs from April 1 to March 31, it applies to all games that were released onto the Japanese market in this period. Gaming giant Microsoft have chosen to not attend this years event but with more than 1,200 gaming titles and exhibitors from 37 countries, there is bound to be something to meet everyone's tastes. (September 2015) The ceremony changed its name from launchs 'CESA Awards' (CESA, CESA taisho) and 'CESA Game Awards' to the actual 'Japan Game Awards' (). The event will feature independent and major developers over its four day run with many of them looking to capture attendees interest through game offering and unique booth setups. And the timing of the PlayStation Showcase rumors coincides nicely with an incoming and seemingly oddly timed update for Bloodborne. This market represents somewhat of a last bastion for many mobile game developers with App Annie reporting that smartphone app sales in Japan outstripped those of the USA in July. Supercell, the Finnish developer behind the blockbuster mobile game Clash of Clans, had crowds enamored with their first visit to the gaming conference. Recognising that the mobile gaming industry is at the cusp of a golden era, many industry leaders attend the conference hoping to showcase their latest update. One highly anticipated title is Elden Ring by FromSoftware.Fans of the studios previous works like Dark Souls and Bloodborne have been eagerly awaiting any. With the Japanese mobile games market purportedly standing at nearly $7bn it is no surprise that a number of established mobile developers are exhibiting at the conference. Kicking off the SCEJA press conference prior to this year's Tokyo Game Show, President of Sony's Worldwide Studios Shuhei Yoshida took the stage to reveal the first expansion for Bloodborne. Other news from Sony’s gaming arm focused on a Bloodborne expansion, Gravity Rush 2, Yakuza 6 and a new Resident Evil spin-off. This will form part of their Kingdom Hearts collectible series containing Kingdom hearts 1 and 2 that will be also released in 2016 just in time, potentially, for Kingdom Heart 3. The first expansion for From Softwares demonically difficult adventure title Bloodborne will land on PS4 this November. Sony also announced that Kingdom Hearts fans can look forward to Kingdom Hearts II.8: Final Chapter Prologue coming out on the Playstation 3 and 4 sometime in 2016. No news yet on whether this price cut will be shared among other markets. The package will contain the original game, along with the upcoming expansion, The Old Hunters. Sony captured many of the headlines at this years event with news that they are cutting the price of Sony PlayStation 4 in the Japanese market just in time for the holiday season. Bloodborne Game of the Year Edition will be available from Novemexclusively on PlayStation 4, Sony has announced. ![]() The event is one of the most popular, and important, in the Asian games industry as it is recognised as the launch pad for a number of new releases from Asian based developers and brands. 3 new additions were dropped onto Game Pass for download today, and early 2023 is shaping up to be quite the jam-packed release window.With a record number of booths and exhibitors, with some reports indicating as many as 2,000 booths from 480 exhibitors, The Tokyo Game Show for 2015 represents one of the biggest gaming shows of the year after E3 and Gamescom. In total, the show shared updates from 22 games on Xbox, which included 13 from Japanese developers. Speaking at PlayStation's Tokyo Game Show press conference this morning, Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studio president Shuhei Yoshida described The Old Hunters as a 'full-scale' expansion. On release, Deathloop will receive free Golden Loop updates which comes with a new weapon, enemies, upgrades, an extended ending and cross-platform matchmaking. Advertisements for the game started to release this week and were spotted by keen fans on the Xbox dashboard, so while this wasn't a surprise announcement, Xbox fans will be happy to have an official date for the drop. The game was originally a Sony Playstation console exclusive however September marks the end of that 1-year deal. ![]() Even better, it can be pre-installed from today. This new expansion, entitled The Old Hunters, comes to us via Sony's presentation during the Tokyo Game Show this week, including a trailer as well as a release date of November 24th of this year. Finishing off the show, Xbox announced a release date for the much-anticipated drop of Deathloop, which comes to Game Pass on September 20. From Software's Bloodborne is getting a new expansion, which is set to add not only new areas to explore and be murdered in, but new weapons to try and stave off the inevitability of said murder. ![]()
